Cutting the mitered edges is one of the most difficult pieces in leather box making. You must run your blade at a perfect 45 degrees to ensure tidy corners. I designed a miter jig so that you can use a french skiver, regular skiver, or any blade you can hold flat against the jig.
There is a flat guide in the jig so that your piece stays square, and you can use the 45-degree or 60-degree edge for four and six-sided boxes.
